Position: Senior Group Accountant (6 Months FTC)
Location: Greater LondonWe are working with a leading private equity fund seeking a technically strong Senior Group Accountant to join on a 6-month fixed term contract
.
This opportunity would suit a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with strong group reporting and consolidation experience, ideally gained within financial services, investment management, private equity, or professional services. Strong knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP will be important
, alongside advanced Excel skills and the ability to work independently to tight deadlines.
THE ROLE This is a 6-month fixed term contract supporting the Group Finance team during a busy reporting cycle. The role will involve reviewing and validating consolidation outputs, supporting IFRS reporting requirements, preparing technical accounting analysis, and acting as a key point of contact for audit-related matters.
Support the group consolidation process, ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial dataDevelop and maintain offline Excel-based consolidation models to validate system outputsInvestigate and resolve discrepancies between consolidation systems and offline modelsReview financial statements and supporting schedules to ensure compliance with IFRS reporting requirementsIdentify reporting gaps, inconsistencies, or disclosure issues and recommend appropriate adjustmentsSupport the preparation of audit-ready documentation and ensure files are clearly evidenced and well organisedPrepare technical accounting memos covering complex or judgemental areas, including impairment, reserves, and other significant transactionsSupport IFRS 16 lease accounting reviews, including calculations and adjustment memosReconcile local GAAP to IFRS across group entities and ensure required adjustments are appropriately capturedLiaise with external auditors on consolidation, reporting, and technical accounting queriesSupport the wider finance team with ad-hoc reporting, analysis, and process improvement work as requiredCANDIDATE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Fully qualified accountant or strong equivalent experience in accounting, finance, or a related fieldStrong background in group reporting and consolidationsGood technical accounting knowledge, including IFRS and UK GAAPPrevious experience within financial services, investment management, private equity, or professional services would be advantageousAdvanced Excel skills, with the ability to build, review, and maintain robust financial modelsExperience using consolidation systems would be beneficialStrong attention to detail and high standards of accuracyAble to work autonomously and deliver high-quality work to tight deadlinesClear and confident communicator, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal stakeholders and external auditorsHighly organised, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environmentStrong judgement, integrity, and discretion when handling sensitive financial information#J-18808-Ljbffr
