Location: Greater London

The Fin Ops Lead is responsible for leading Cloud Financial Management across Azure and Private Cloud environments for a financial services customer. You will drive cost transparency, optimisation strategies, and financial governance aligned to regulatory and operational requirements

This is a player/coach role
, leading a Fin Ops team while remaining hands‑on—shaping cost models, delivering insight, and enabling data‑driven decision‑making across the business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and develop the Fin Ops team, setting objectives and performance standards
  • Design and deliver Fin Ops services aligned to financial services requirements
  • Develop and maintain cost models across Azure and Private Cloud environments
  • Drive cost optimisation strategies while maintaining performance and resilience
  • Deliver high‑quality reporting and dashboards for technical and non‑technical stakeholders
  • Own and manage cost management tooling (e.g. Azure Cost Management)
  • Translate business and technical requirements into financial models and insights
  • Collaborate with Cloud, Data, and Infrastructure teams to improve cost visibility
  • Support sales and account growth through Fin Ops‑led opportunities
  • Provide strategic input to leadership on Fin Ops service evolution
  • Ensure robust governance, auditability, and financial transparency across all outputs
  • Support audits, regulatory reviews, and compliance activities
Experience & Knowledge
  • Proven experience in Fin Ops or cloud financial management
  • Strong experience with Azure and Private Cloud cost models
  • Advanced Excel and Power BI skills for modelling and reporting
  • Strong understanding of cloud and infrastructure cost drivers
  • Experience with financial reporting tools and cost optimisation frameworks
  • Experience working in regulated (financial services) environments
  • Knowledge of frameworks such as FCA, PRA, DORA, ISO 27001
