We are looking for an experienced accounts payable professional to join our Finance team as a Payments Assistant at Birkbeck, University of London.
Salary and Benefits£31,234 to £34,827 per year (Grade 4 on the College's London Pay Scale, including a consolidated London Weighting Allowance). A Payments Assistant will be responsible for processing invoices and credit notes, reconciling supplier accounts, handling queries, and supporting the preparation of BACS and international payment runs. You will maintain supplier records and support users of our Business World (Agresso) finance system, providing excellent service to internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications- Good knowledge of accounts payable systems and processes, and financial regulations relevant to accounts payable including VAT treatment of invoices.
- Understanding of three‑way matching and coding supplier invoices, and experience of preparing BACS payment runs.
- Proven IT skills and sound organisational and administrative skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
