What you’ll do at work- Draft and prepare client accounts and statutory accounts, including tax computations.
- Draft quarterly VAT returns.
- Create reports covering financial statements, client business issues, systems and controls.
- Prepare management accounts.
- Correspond with clients and keep the relevant manager informed of developments.
- Prepare P11d forms for review by team members.
- Analyse client records and assist with running payroll.
- Prepare final account packs to send to clients.
The apprenticeship includes time away from working for specialist training. You will study towards the AAT Level 3 and Level 4 qualification over 36 months under an apprenticeship contract.

Course contents- Assist with investigation and response to financial information queries.
- Record and analyse financial data using the organisation's standard tools.
- Apply double‑entry bookkeeping and accounting standards to process financial documents, generate financial statements and report financial information.
- Assist with production of accurate financial information for account preparation.
- Reconcile financial data, including preparation and review of reconciliations.
- Investigate, resolve or escalate transactional queries and errors within remit.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders.
- Communicate financial information so that non‑finance stakeholders can understand it.
- Utilise digital skills to present key financial information using finance and accounting software.
- Use software packages to assist with basic accounting tasks in line with cyber and data security requirements, including backing up data.
- Communicate using varying approaches and media methods while appreciating the risks and benefits of social media and other digital applications.
Advanced Diploma – AAT Level 3. This level builds on the knowledge gained in the Foundation level and covers advanced bookkeeping, final accounts preparation, cost accounting, indirect tax and an advanced synoptic assessment.
Essential qualifications- GCSE Maths (grade 9/A* – 6/B) and English (grade 9/A* – 6/B).
