What you’ll doWe’re looking for a detail‑oriented Payments Operations Specialist to join our Savings Operations team.
You’ll play a key role in ensuring money moves accurately, efficiently and compliantly across our savings products. Working closely with Operations, Finance, Product, Compliance and external partners, you’ll help deliver a seamless experience for customers while maintaining strong operational controls behind the scenes.
You’ll be responsible for processing and monitoring customer transactions across our ISA products, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers and interest payments. You’ll ensure customer funds are handled accurately and reconciled correctly, helping maintain the integrity of our savings operations.
You’ll support daily and monthly reconciliations, oversee contribution and Direct Debit processes, and work closely with our Lifetime ISA administrator to ensure money is allocated correctly and customer records remain accurate.
With a strong focus on continuous improvement, you’ll help identify operational inefficiencies, reduce manual processes and contribute to building scalable solutions as we continue to grow.
You’ll also champion our values, contribute ideas to improve operational processes and play a key role in maintaining the high standards our customers expect from Tembo.
What we’re looking for- Experience working in operations within fintech, banking or regulated financial services
- Experience processing payments, customer transactions or financial operations activities
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and quality
- Experience working with reconciliations, balancing processes and financial controls
- Comfortable working with spreadsheets and analysing data to investigate discrepancies and support operational reporting
- Highly organised, reliable and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
- Strong problem‑solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues
- Ability to work collaboratively across Operations, Finance, Product, Compliance and external partners
- Passion for improving processes and delivering operational excellence
- Comfortable thriving in a fast‑paced, scaling start‑up environment
Location: Hybrid, with an office in London Bridge (1 day per week in the office)
Salary range: up to £32,000 (plus monthly commission upon passing probation).
