The Role

The Person al Tax team advises a broad portfolio of clients including:

  • Ultra-high-net-worth and high-net-worth individuals
  • Private equity professionals
  • Owner-managed businesses
  • Entrepreneurs and start-ups
  • Partnerships and family groups
  • Internationally mobile individuals
  • Trusts and estates

This role offers a blend of compliance, advisory and client relationship management responsibilities, with opportunities to work on technically interesting assignments and support the development of junior team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take ownership of assignments and manage a portfolio of clients.
  • Provide technical support across personal tax matters including Income Tax, Capital Gains Tax, Inheritance Tax and residence issues.
  • Manage compliance requirements and respond to client queries.
  • Assist with advisory and consultancy projects.
  • Support compliance work relating to EIS/SEIS, EMI schemes, employment-related securities and annual reporting requirements.
  • Prepare complex personal tax returns and ensure compliance with current legislation.
  • Monitor tax payment deadlines and ensure obligations are met.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication.
  • Liaise with clients, HMRC and third parties on a broad range of personal and business tax matters.
  • Support and mentor junior team members.
  • Act as a point of contact for tax queries from colleagues across the wider business.
  • Undertake technical research and contribute to advisory projects.

Qualifications & Experience
  • ATT and/or CTA qualified, or qualified by experience.
  • Strong personal tax experience gained within a professional services environment.
  • Experience managing client relationships and delivering high levels of service.
  • Exposure to expatriate tax matters would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • Strong academic background preferred.
