Senior Commercial Accountant – Energy Trading & Valuations

We're supporting a leading global energy business in the search for a Senior Accountant to join a high-performing finance team supporting a complex and fast-moving energy trading environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant who enjoys working beyond traditional financial reporting, combining technical accounting expertise with commercial analysis, valuations and exposure to energy markets.

Working closely with finance leadership, commercial teams and key business stakeholders, you'll play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, supporting complex transactions and providing insight into the performance of energy-related products and contracts.

This is a varied position that offers significant exposure to trading activities, valuation methodologies and commercial decision-making.

• Supporting month-end, quarter-end and year-end reporting processes
• Accounting for complex contracts and transactions under IFRS
• Reviewing and analysing valuations, fair value movements and key performance drivers
• Supporting financial reporting and technical accounting assessments
• Providing insight into trading performance and commercial activity
• Working closely with front-office, risk and operational teams
• Supporting audits and responding to technical accounting queries
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes, controls and reporting

We're looking for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) with a strong technical foundation and experience operating within a commercial or trading environment.
