Role Summary
The Commercial Lead will play a frontline role in partnership with the client and key stakeholders to support business, operational and commercial decisions. This role will utilise effective contract management expertise to provide sound advice and guidance around pricing and risk mitigation in partnership with account stakeholders. The Lead will utilise financial and commercial acumen to develop and maintain all necessary guidelines and manuals associated with relevant financial and operational processes.
This role will provide strategic leadership to the JLL finance team, ensuring all staff are well trained on finance systems and effectively able to extract audit worthy data. The Lead will ensure that appropriate processes and system controls are in place to maintain and guarantee the integrity of all transactions, and in compliance with existing standard internal and SOC1 controls.
- Business Partnering and Contract Management
- Support the Regional Account Director and account team in business, operational, financial decision making, risk mitigation and other pricing advice in partnership with the client and stakeholders
- Communicate clear timelines, ownership, objectives and guidelines
- Ensure the Finance team assists with ongoing cost saving projects, including identification, monitoring and analysis
- Identify market trends and changes in pricing models to develop recommendations with a focus on value‑creating outcomes for JLL and our clients
- Partner with account leaders to execute contract changes and scope management
- Invoice Payments and Billing
- Develop and maintain all necessary guidelines and manuals associated with the accounts payable / receivable process
- Accountable for the timely coordination of the JLL invoice processing and monitoring the accounts receivable ensuring management of JLL cash flow
- Reporting, Forecasting and Planning
- Lead management and oversight of all reporting, forecasting and planning, analysing operational data across the client’s property portfolio and ensuring accurate and timely financial information is provided
- Guide the finance team toward completing corporate budget, operating reviews and forecast activities in an accurate, consistent and timely fashion
- Provide monthly, quarterly and ad hoc reporting and variance analyses for corporate requirements

- Data Management, Policies, Procedures and Audit Planning
- Ensure that appropriate process and systems controls are in place and maintained to guarantee the integrity of all transactions
- Ensure that all financial accounting and reporting is audit worthy and in keeping with recognized quality management processes
- People Management
- Provide effective strategic leadership and direction to account finance team by encouraging a culture of open and constructive collaboration and teamwork
- Hire, attract, and retain a team of top talent; provide coaching, mentoring and feedback to foster a culture of continuous improvement
- Ensure all finance staff are well trained on the financial systems and are effectively able to extract data
- Experience in contract management, budget and quarterly forecasting, reporting and analytics, and data management
- In depth operational experience understanding client requirements, industry delivery and contracting models
- Deep understanding of account P&Ls; the drivers of value and risk, impact of changes in contract scope, portfolio profile and resource levels
- Client focus to recognise that driving client satisfaction is our best path to mutual growth and value‑add
- Anticipates and understands emerging needs of the client and trends in the market
- Strong communicator with ability to advise and influence senior stakeholders and SMEs across a diverse range of topics
- Ability to partner with account and sales leaders to engage with clients on contract changes, management of scope increases, variations to resource models, glide paths etc.
- Can critically review financial, contract and sales information to provide constructive and relevant feedback and advice, shares learnings from comparable situations
- Leads by example and instils strong client focus into ways of working and process design
- Proven effective strategic leader with demonstrated skills in hiring, coaching and mentoring
- Extensive Central UK govt contract experience is essential.
- University degree or professional qualification in accounting, finance or relevant field (ACA, CIMA, CPA preferred)
- 10 years’ experience preferably in MNC with regional exposure across EMEA
- Experience in leading finance in matrix environment including ability to manage through complexity and ambiguity
- Business partnering and commercial finance experience
