Your Role

As a Financial Accountant, you will support the Financial Controller in safeguarding the accuracy and integrity of the organisation’s financial operations. The role spans statutory and financial reporting, tax compliance, treasury management and financial control, playing a key part in maintaining financial stability and supporting informed decision‑making across the group. As a central point of contact within finance and the wider organisation, you will contribute to both day‑to‑day operations and broader strategic matters.

Salary

£55,000 - £62,000

Responsibilities

You will take ownership of end‑to‑end financial accounting, including the preparation of statutory accounts and audit deliverables, corporation tax and VAT returns, and maintaining robust records across UK and international entities. You will oversee balance sheet reporting, cashflow forecasting and reserves reconciliation, support treasury activities and payroll processes, and engage actively with auditors, manage audit queries and ensure compliance with evolving financial regulations.

You will also strengthen and enhance the group’s financial control environment, identifying improvements to processes, systems and reporting.

Qualifications
  • You are a recently qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or similar) with a strong grounding in financial accounting, ideally gained in an audit environment.
  • You are comfortable taking ownership of end‑to‑end financial processes, including statutory accounts, VAT, payroll and audit engagement.
  • You bring a high level of attention to detail and technical confidence, with strong Excel skills and a solid understanding of financial controls and reporting.
  • You are organised and resilient, able to manage competing priorities and operate effectively in a demanding, fast‑paced role.
  • You communicate clearly and build effective working relationships across finance teams, senior stakeholders and external auditors.
  • You take a proactive approach, identifying improvements to processes and systems while remaining adaptable in a changing environment.
  • You are realistic about the breadth of the opportunity and motivated to contribute in a hands‑on, individual contributor role at the centre of the finance function.
