Analyst – Listed Real Estate Securities, Equity Research Job Overview
Center Square is an independently owned global investment manager focused on actively managed real estate strategies. The Real Estate Securities Analyst will work alongside other members of the team with responsibility for research coverage of UK and European real estate companies. The primary function will be to analyze stocks under their coverage, with a longer‑term goal to make specific stock and sector recommendations to the Portfolio Managers and global head of real estate for Center Square Investment Management’s global real‑estate securities strategies.
This is an opportunity for someone who has the ambition in the long run to become a portfolio manager.
- Gather and incorporate all sources of information into maintaining and updating financial models and forecasts, geographic exposure and ESG models for each individual company based on the following:
- Company press releases and financial reports
- Information from management meetings and industry conferences
- On‑site property tours and inspection
- Macroeconomics and real‑estate research
- Sell‑side research and any other relevant sources of information
- Disseminate information relating to coverage in a clear, concise and impactful manner both verbally and in writing.
- Handle team administrative duties including:
- Producing reports and meeting packs
- Updating portfolio databases
- Recording trades
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably from a top university, demonstrating a high level of numerical and analytical skills.
- 0–2 years of experience in the investment management industry or a highly analytical role elsewhere.
- Independent thinker with strong intellectual curiosity.
- Knowledge of and enthusiasm for investing, markets, economics and general business issues.
- Fast learner with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Outstanding written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Fluent spoken and written English; strong knowledge of at least one other European‑region language is beneficial.
- Superior knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of coding would be beneficial.
- Outgoing, collaborative style with a demonstrated ability to work effectively unsupervised and in a team environment.
