This role is responsible for supporting the accurate and timely preparation and analysis of financial information across accounting, reporting, and regulatory frameworks, including US GAAP, US Statutory (US STAT), Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA), and other internal or regulatory bases as required. The role works closely with Actuarial, Treasury, Reinsurance Accounting, and wider Finance stakeholders to support statutory, regulatory and management deliverables.
This is a hands‑on execution role, focused on close, reporting, analysis, journals, reconciliations, and audit support, working collaboratively across Finance within established frameworks, controls, and processes.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting across management, statutory, and regulatory bases.
- Support period‑end close activities, including preparation and/or review of journal entries, reconciliations, system outputs, and supporting schedules.
- Prepare and analyse financial results and movements, providing explanations of variances.
- Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of reconciling items.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and Finance policies.
- Support internal and external audit processes by preparing documentation and assisting with information requests.
- Support cross‑functional Finance processes, working collaboratively with teams including Investments, Treasury, Reinsurance Accounting, Actuarial, Risk, and Operations.
- Support process adherence, documentation updates, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide ad hoc analysis and support to Finance managers as required.
- Qualified accountant (ACA or equivalent).
- 2+ years of experience in accounting, financial services, or (re) insurance (preferred).
- University degree.
- Experience supporting financial reporting under US GAAP (preferred) or similar frameworks.
- Exposure to a regulated environment is beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage deadlines and operate effectively during close cycles.
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly adaptable, with a proven ability to quickly learn new systems.
- Well‑organised and process‑driven.
- Collaborative team player who works effectively across Finance functions.
- Demonstrates integrity, accountability, and a proactive approach.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint, and Outlook.
