We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to join our client's finance team - they are an exciting experiential events and brand activation agency. The role is a 12 month maternity cover contract to start mid July, and will be offered for 3-4 days per week or 5 shorter days per week - roughly 24-32 hours per week with at least 2 days per week onsite in Central London.
This role is ideal for someone with strong organisational skills and a keen eye for detail who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will support the day-to-day finance function, ensuring accurate financial records and assisting with key accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations across multiple accounts.
- Assist with the preparation and monitoring of cash flow forecasts and reporting.
- Process and reconcile employee expenses, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Support the preparation and execution of supplier payment runs and ad hoc payments.
- Maintain accurate purchase and sales ledger records.
- Assist with invoice processing, coding, and posting to the accounting system.
- Monitor outstanding balances and support credit control activities where required.
- Prepare financial reports and schedules for management review.
- Assist with month-end procedures, including reconciliations and journal postings.
- Respond to finance-related queries from suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain organised financial records and documentation.
- Provide ad hoc finance and administrative support to the wider finance team as required.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant, Bookkeeper, or similar role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
- Experience with bank reconciliations, expenses, and payment processing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software such as Paprika and Cleo.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
