Have you recently left or are due to leave higher education with outstanding results in a commercial subject like Law, Economics, or Accounting?
Do you now hope to start your professional career with an innovative insurance business that loves to challenge the status quo?
CFC is searching for an Underwriting Assistant to support our Transaction Liability team.
Our award‑winning “TL” team underwrites a comprehensive range of insurance products covering risks that arise during a merger or acquisition. Since its launch in 2016, CFC’s transaction liability team has quickly become one of the largest small‑ and mid‑market transaction liability insurers globally. We are the leading small‑ and mid‑market underwriter in North America and the number one underwriter of secondary transactions worldwide.
Over the past five years, our TL underwriting team has contributed to the development of several creative M&A products.
As an Underwriting Assistant you’ll provide dedicated support to underwriters across our teams.
- Providing excellent administrative support primarily to the transaction liability team and other underwriting teams to ensure CFC can adhere to target turnaround times for our brokers and insurers.
- Managing the underwriting central inboxes and logging new and renewal submissions on CFC’s internal underwriting system.
- Preparing various activity reports and spreadsheets as directed.
- Administering the department diary, including chasing outstanding items such as subjectivities and assisting with invoicing and the set‑up of new clients.
- Answering incoming calls and fielding queries as appropriate.
- Reviewing and amending transaction documents, including non‑disclosure and hold‑harmless letters.
- Working with the existing support functions in CFC to ensure the timely progression of transactions from initial submission to policy binding (including the administrative aspects of this process).
This is an entry‑level role, so we do not require any insurance experience.
Commercial awareness and an understanding of mergers and acquisitions is preferable, and a background in law, business, finance, or otherwise related study is desired.
- Organisational skills with the ability to prioritise work to meet tight deadlines and turnaround times.
- Excellent attention to detail, including accurate written and numeracy skills.
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications—Outlook, Word, and especially Excel.
