Role Overview
Lloyd’s is the world’s leading insurance and reinsurance marketplace. Our Finance function plays a vital role in maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and transparency of reporting across the market.
We are looking for an Accounts Assistant – External Reporting to join our Central Finance team. This role supports the delivery of regulatory and financial reporting using modern reporting tools and large-scale financial datasets, working closely with internal teams and managing agents across the Lloyd’s market.
Location: London or Chatham
Key Responsibilities- Review and analyse syndicate submissions, identifying trends and raising queries with managing agents.
- Support preparation of Lloyd’s UK Solvency II reporting, including submissions to the PRA and the Solvency and Financial Condition Report.
- Assist in delivering UK GAAP financial reporting, including aggregation of market results.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to meet regulatory reporting requirements.
- Respond to queries from the Lloyd’s market, ensuring clear and professional communication.
- Support reporting cycles and delivery of external reporting outputs.
- Contribute to process improvements, system enhancements, and testing of reporting tools.
- Escalate emerging issues and risks to senior team members where appropriate.
- Strong analytical capability with the ability to work effectively with large datasets.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong Excel and IT skills, with ability to learn new reporting systems.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
- Problem‑solving mindset with the ability to identify and support solutions.
- Self‑motivation with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of financial reporting and internal controls.
- Awareness of the Lloyd’s market and its reporting environment (desirable).
- Exposure to UK Solvency II and/or UK GAAP reporting is advantageous.
- Newly qualified or working towards a professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
- Gain exposure to market‑wide regulatory and financial reporting.
- Work with a specialist, high‑performing finance team.
- Build expertise in Solvency II and insurance market reporting.
- Contribute to improving reporting processes across a global marketplace.
