Location: Greater London

We are looking for an Associate Director to join a growing Transaction Tax team that is one the UK's leading advisers to mid-market private equity firms and large acquisitive corporates with deal values of anywhere from a few million to over a billion.on acquisitions, disposals, and business restructurings. The role offers exposure to a wide range of sectors, transactions, and both UK and international tax matters.

The Role

As an Associate Director, you will:

  • Lead tax due diligence and transaction tax engagements for private equity and corporate clients.
  • Advise on acquisition and transaction structures, identifying key tax risks and opportunities.
  • Manage client relationships and present findings to investors, management teams, and advisers.
  • Work closely with financial due diligence, legal, and corporate finance teams throughout the deal lifecycle.
  • Review and oversee the preparation of due diligence and structuring reports.
  • Support business development activities, including proposals, networking, and pitching for new work.
  • Manage project budgets, timelines, and commercial delivery.
  • Coach and develop junior team members, providing technical guidance and support.
  • Build strong relationships across internal teams and external stakeholders.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

  • ACA, CA, CTA, ADIT, or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Experience in transaction tax, M&A tax, or UK corporate tax.
  • Strong technical tax knowledge and the ability to provide practical, commercial advice.
  • Experience managing client relationships and delivering complex projects.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple work streams and deadlines effectively.
  • Exposure to wider tax areas such as transfer pricing, VAT, employment taxes, or stamp taxes would be advantageous.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
