Arthur is partnering with a leading global insurance carrier to recruit a Credit & Political Risk Underwriter.

This is an excellent opportunity for an underwriting professional to join a highly regarded international insurer and contribute to the growth and development of a well-established Credit & Political Risk portfolio. The successful candidate will be responsible for underwriting complex risks, maintaining broker relationships, and supporting the profitable expansion of the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Underwrite Credit and Political Risk insurance opportunities in line with underwriting guidelines and portfolio objectives.
  • Assess and analyse credit, sovereign, political, and country risks across a range of industries and territories.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, clients, and key market stakeholders.
  • Negotiate policy terms, pricing, and coverage structures.
  • Monitor portfolio performance and contribute to portfolio management initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams including claims, risk, legal, and actuarial functions.
  • Stay informed on market developments, geopolitical events, and economic trends impacting the Credit & Political Risk market.
Requirements
  • Experience underwriting Credit & Political Risk, Trade Credit, Structured Credit, or related specialty insurance lines.
  • Strong analytical and financial assessment skills.
  • Understanding of political, economic, and sovereign risk factors.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management abilities.
  • Ability to evaluate complex transactions and make sound underwriting decisions.
  • Degree qualified or equivalent professional experience preferred.
