Job DescriptionWe’re seeking a talented individual to join our Valuations team in London. The role will involve preparing a wide range of valuations for accounting, tax, and commercial purposes, both contested and non‑contested, including business, share, intangible assets and incentive scheme awards.
This demanding role offers exposure to a wide variety of clients, sectors and work types, ideal for someone who enjoys diverse projects and the dynamic of a small team.
Responsibilities Client Service / Client Work- Provide excellent client service at all times, ensuring the customer experience is a priority and aligned with the group’s Conduct Risk framework.
- Strive to achieve the Exceptional Advisor competencies and status.
- Manage client relationships.
- Ensure efficient, high‑quality, proactive and timely execution of advice and services.
- Establish and communicate work scopes.
- Plan and prepare budgets.
- Perform and supervise technical work and projects.
- Write and review reports.
- Build valuation models.
- Research industry trends, comparable companies and acquisitions.
- Promote and build the group’s reputation internally and externally.
- Contribute to business strategy where relevant, ensuring client‑first and commercially viable decisions.
- Assist the Head of Department (HoD) with PR for your field of expertise.
- Promote cross‑selling within the group.
- Build and cultivate relationships with clients and potential clients.
- Ensure compliance with the group’s internal procedures to mitigate risk.
- Follow the group’s compliance manual and relevant operating procedures for your business line.
- Maintain personal technical competence.
- Report complaints and potential PI issues in line with the group’s complaints procedures.
- Monitor chargeable hours, utilisation, recoveries, WIP, billing and lock‑up for your team, keeping lock‑up minimal and billing regular.
- Monitor and manage time recording and prompt submission of timesheets.
- Hold regular financial performance reviews with direct reports regarding client portfolios.
- Inform the HoD promptly of all WIP, bad‑debt provisions or any material issues affecting departmental performance.
- Act as an effective leader in accordance with the Exceptional Leader profile and competencies.
- Manage day‑to‑day activities of direct reports.
- Conduct annual development reviews (ADRs) for direct reports.
- Mentor and develop talent in line with the TBS talent programme.
- Maintain and develop your own technical and professional standards and those of your team.
- Help develop strong management and leadership skills in direct reports.
- Extensive experience of valuation methodologies and modelling across sectors and purposes.
- Up‑to‑date knowledge of key valuation methodologies and best practice in modelling.
- High competency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint for model creation and report preparation.
- Demonstrable experience in business development, winning new clients and developing commercial relationships.
- Ability to generate industry contacts and willingness to develop them.
- Degree level or equivalent education.
- A relevant qualification such as a chartered accountant is desirable but not essential.
