Head of Intraday Proprietary Trading

A well established energy trading business is expanding its proprietary trading function and is seeking a Head of Intraday Proprietary Power Trading to lead its growth across the CWE power markets.

The team is already delivering strong results across several markets and this individual will be responsible for driving the next phase of expansion, shaping strategy, growing market coverage and building a leading proprietary trading operation.

This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of a high profile trading mandate with the backing, infrastructure and capital of an established organization.

• Develop and execute profitable intraday proprietary trading strategies across CWE power markets
• Lead the growth and development of the intraday proprietary trading desk
• Take ownership of trading performance, risk management and strategic direction
• Identify and develop new trading opportunities across European power markets
• Work closely with quantitative, analytics and technology teams to enhance trading capabilities
• Support hiring and team development as the desk continues to grow

• Proven track record generating PnL within the CWE intraday proprietary power markets
• Experience in a start-up environment or scaling a team is desirable
• Experience entering new markets is desirable
• Strong understanding of CWE market dynamics and power fundamentals
• Deep knowledge of intraday trading strategies and risk management
• Commercial mindset with the ability to identify and capitalize on market opportunities
