Investment Analyst

The Opportunity

Our client is a private equity-backed renewable energy platform focused on the acquisition, development, construction, and operation of energy transition assets across Europe.

Backed by a leading infrastructure investor, the business is pursuing an ambitious growth strategy across solar PV, battery energy storage systems (BESS), onshore wind, and adjacent energy infrastructure opportunities.

As the platform continues to scale, they are seeking an Investment Analyst to support investment activities, financial analysis, transaction execution, and portfolio growth initiatives.

This role offers exposure to the full investment lifecycle, working directly alongside senior investment professionals, management teams, lenders, advisors, and external stakeholders.

• Support the evaluation and execution of renewable energy investments, acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships.

• Build and maintain detailed financial models for greenfield developments, operating assets, and platform-level transactions.

• Conduct investment analysis including valuation, scenario modelling, sensitivity analysis, and return assessments.

• Assist in the preparation of investment committee materials and board presentations.

• Support transaction processes from origination through to execution and closing.

• Conduct market research across renewable energy sectors including solar, wind, battery storage, hydrogen, and wider energy transition infrastructure.

• Analyse regulatory frameworks, power markets, revenue mechanisms, and market dynamics.

• Monitor competitor activity, investment trends, and M&A transactions across target markets.

• Assess development pipelines and evaluate project economics.

• Coordinate technical, commercial, financial, legal, and tax due diligence work streams.

• Review third-party reports and identify key risks and value creation opportunities.

• Assist with data room management and transaction documentation.

• Work alongside external advisors, lenders, consultants, and legal counsel throughout transaction processes.

• Support portfolio monitoring activities across existing investments.

• Track operational and financial performance against investment cases.

• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and portfolio reporting requirements.

• Contribute to value creation initiatives across portfolio companies and project platforms.

• 1–3 years of relevant experience within:

• Investment Banking

• Infrastructure / Renewable Energy Investment

• Transaction Services

• Corporate Finance

• Project Finance

• Big 4 Deals Advisory

• Renewable Energy Development

• Strong financial modelling and valuation capabilities.

• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Strong commercial awareness of energy and infrastructure markets.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

• Degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Business, or a related discipline.

• Professional qualifications such as CFA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent would be advantageous.

• Exposure to the full investment lifecycle across renewable infrastructure transactions.
