Global Equity Analyst – Long/Short (Hedge Fund)

We are seeking a high-conviction Global Equity Analyst to join our long/short equity hedge fund. This role is designed for an investor who thrives in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment, generates differentiated long and short ideas, and is comfortable operating in shorter-duration time frames (3–6 months). The analyst will take ownership of ideas from inception through monetization, with direct P&L accountability.

• Source, develop, and pitch high-conviction long and short equity ideas across global markets
• Focus on tactical, catalyst-driven opportunities with defined 3–6 month time horizons
• Build and maintain deep, dynamic financial models and valuation frameworks
• Identify and size around idiosyncratic and macro-driven catalysts (earnings, guidance changes, capital allocation, regulatory shifts, macro inflections)
• Continuously monitor positions, manage downside risk, and adjust theses rapidly as facts change
• Work directly with the PM on position construction, timing, and risk management
• Maintain tight coverage lists and rotate focus quickly as opportunity sets evolve
• Develop and leverage strong relationships with sell-side analysts, research houses, and industry experts to source differentiated insights, validate theses, and gain early awareness of shifting narratives
• Actively challenge consensus views and use external research as an input, not a substitute, for independent thinking
• Clearly and decisively communicate investment views under pressure

• 3–8+ years of experience in long/short equity hedge funds or equivalent buy-side roles
• Ability to independently source ideas beyond published research
• Demonstrated track record of profitable long and short idea generation
• Established network across sell-side research, independent research providers, and industry contacts
• Comfortable taking non-consensus views and expressing them with conviction
• Strong accounting, financial statement analysis, and valuation skills
• Ability to operate with speed, urgency, and accountability
• Strong market intuition with awareness of positioning, sentiment, and flows
• Global equity experience across multiple regions and sectors
• Mental resilience, competitiveness, and performance-oriented

• Experience in catalyst-driven, event-oriented, or tactical trading strategies
• Familiarity with risk management frameworks, drawdown control, and stop-loss discipline
