Internal Auditor

Audit and Risk Recruitment are working with a Central London Borough Council in the recruitment of an internal auditor.

As an Internal Auditor, you'll plan and deliver end-to-end audit assignments across a wide range of council services, from financial and operational audits to governance and risk reviews. You'll produce clear, well-evidenced reports and work closely with managers across the organisation to drive improvements.

• Planning and executing risk-based internal audit assignments from start to finish
• Identifying control weaknesses and making practical, value-adding recommendations
• Preparing clear and concise audit reports for management and senior stakeholders
• Following up on agreed actions to ensure recommendations are implemented
• Contributing to a positive and collaborative team culture

• Part or fully qualified (CCAB / CMIIA / IIA) or studying towards a relevant qualification
• Experience conducting internal audits, ideally within the public sector
• Strong analytical skills with an eye for detail and a methodical approach
• Confident communicator, able to build rapport with colleagues at all levels
• A commitment to continuous learning and professional development
