The Investment Accounting & Reporting Implementation Lead is accountable for end‑to‑end delivery of ledger, accounting and reporting requirements within an investment system implementation programme.
The role also has responsibility for delivery of Investments regulatory reporting forms into the MS Amlin BAU reporting teams during the transition period. The role acts as the primary SME and delivery lead across accounting and reporting design, vendor engagement, testing, controls, and transition into BAU.
About the jobWhile there is rarely a typical day, here’s a snapshot of some of the key parts of the job:
Accounting Services Design and configuration- Lead the definition of accounting requirements for all portfolios (existing and proposed new portfolios) for the set‑up and configuration of the new Investments system
- Act as the senior accounting SME for the new investment/accounting system
- Ensure consistency of accounting treatment across portfolios and alignment with technical accounting standards
- Define required data sources for all Head Office and Regulatory reporting outputs
- Review investment system reporting capabilities and map gaps against regulatory / HO needs
- Act as SME for:
- Configuration of customised system reports
- UAT of reporting outputs
- Design and oversee build of any overlay solutions required beyond core system outputs
- Primary liaison with:
- System vendor (investment platform and accounting services)
- BNP, BAU Finance teams, Investments team, and Technical Accounting support
- ABS IT for Oracle GL feed setup
- Own resolution of cross‑team accounting and systems issues
- Own the definition of UAT and testing scenarios, leveraging BNP UAT materials where available
- Lead and peer‑review:
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Parallel runs of accounting and reporting outputs for selected portfolios in test environments
- Sign off accounting and reporting readiness for go‑live
- Ensure full process documentation is in place for:
- New accounting processes
- New reporting processes
- Define control points, hand‑offs, approvals, and sign‑offs
- Support internal and external audit readiness
- Oversee transition of regulatory reporting activities from legacy providers (e.g. AIML) where applicable, ensuring reporting deliverables are delivered accurately, completely and timely during the transition period
- Assess and manage risks relating to service cessation vs system go‑live timelines
- Have excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
- Have effective communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail.
- Lead change effectively and always look for ways of improving existing processes.
- Strong accounting background (investment accounting)
- Demonstrated experience leading ledger or accounting system implementations
- Proven SME‑level knowledge and demonstrated experience in delivering insurance regulatory reporting
- Experience owning UAT and parallel runs
- Strong stakeholder management across IT, vendors, and finance teams
- High attention to controls, governance, and documentation
