My client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Legal Cashier to join their professional and supportive team. Working at the heart of the firm's financial operations, the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth management of client and office accounts while supporting the firm's commitment to exceptional service and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily accounts payable and receivable activities, ensuring invoices and payments are processed accurately and on time.
Reconcile client and office accounts, maintaining precise financial records using accounting software such as Quick Books, Sage, or Xero.
Prepare and complete bank reconciliations and assist with the production of financial reports.
Administer and monitor client funds in accordance with relevant legal accounting regulations and firm policies.
Maintain organised and audit-ready records of all financial transactions.
Provide financial and administrative support to fee earners and the wider legal team as required.
Ensure ongoing compliance with financial regulations, legal accounting standards, and internal procedures.
Liaise professionally with auditors, banks, and external legal professionals regarding financial matters and documentation.
Skills & Experience Required
Previous experience as a Legal Cashier or within a similar finance position in a legal practice or professional services environment.
Strong working knowledge of legal accounting procedures and client account management.
Proficiency in accounting software, including Quick Books, Sage, or Xero.
Excellent understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliation processes.
Outstanding organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
A meticulous approach to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
The ability to work independently while contributing positively within a team environment.
Relevant finance or accounting qualifications would be advantageous but are not essential.
