In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Review new fund launches, mandate changes, prospectus updates, and ad hoc requests to determine monitoring requirements, coding feasibility, and implementation approach.

  • Maintain and enhance pre-trade and post-trade mandate monitoring rules and restrictions across relevant monitoring systems.

  • Support offshore mandate monitoring teams in daily post-trade monitoring, exception management, and execution of manual controls.

  • Maintain stop lists, restricted lists, procedures, and operating documentation to ensure a robust and well-controlled monitoring environment.

  • Partner with Front Office, Client Services, Compliance, Risk, Controls, Technology, and other operational teams to resolve queries and improve end-to-end monitoring processes.

  • Identify process risks, control gaps, and recurring breach themes, and contribute to practical solutions that strengthen control effectiveness and reduce future exceptions.

  • Contribute to change initiatives, system enhancements, AI solutions, and broader mandate monitoring projects, delivering assigned work within agreed timelines.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

  • Demonstrated experience in mandate monitoring within an investment management or asset servicing environment.

  • Hands-on experience coding, testing, and maintaining investment guideline rules in Aladdin.

  • Experience investigating and resolving pre-trade and post-trade exceptions in partnership with portfolio management and oversight teams.

  • Experience interpreting discretionary client investment management agreements, fund prospectuses, and investment and borrowing powers.

  • Strong understanding of the investment management lifecycle across multiple asset classes and client types.

  • Strong knowledge of mandate monitoring processes, including rule automation, exception monitoring, breach analysis, and control frameworks.

  • Working knowledge of UK, Irish, US, and Luxembourg retail fund regulations and related investment restrictions.

  • Strong business-user technology skills and confidence working across monitoring systems, workflow tools, and productivity enhancement applications.

  • Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to interpret complex documentation accurately.

  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively in a deadline-driven environment.

  • Sound judgement and decision-making skills, particularly when assessing guideline intent, materiality, and escalation requirements.

  • Clear verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex restrictions and monitoring outcomes to varied stakeholders.

  • Collaborative and proactive approach, with a continuous improvement mindset and commitment to high control standards.
