- Formulate and implement investment strategy, including the optimal strategic asset allocation (SAA) to maximise risk‑ and capital‑adjusted returns while ensuring robust asset‑liability management (ALM).
- Lead the selection and day‑to‑day oversight of external managers, setting and reviewing guidelines and processes to guarantee effective execution of the strategy and compliance with risk appetite and responsible investment policies.
- Integrate responsible investment principles into SAA and manager selection, and rigorously monitor and challenge manager performance against mandates and policies.
- Engage with treasury, reserving, capital and wider finance teams, and deliver and present papers to the Investment and Risk & Solvency Committees.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting to the Investment Committee, Board and other governance forums.
- Background in investment management, strategy or manager oversight roles, preferably within the insurance sector, with experience in asset‑liability management.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to present complex information to senior stakeholders.
- Expert proficiency in performance and risk systems (e.g. Aladdin, PowerBI) and regulatory reporting.
- Deep understanding of the Lloyd’s insurance market regulatory landscape.
- Professional qualifications such as CFA or FIA.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to think creatively and innovatively about methods and outcomes.
- Team orientation, with the capacity to direct and manage delivery across competing priorities.
- Self‑motivation, continuous improvement mindset and high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent logical reasoning and commercial acumen, with strong communication skills to optimise stakeholder relationships.
