Motor Pricing Manager – Direct Trading

London, Norwich or Leeds - and we're happy to consider flexible / hybrid working depending on your location.

Motor Pricing sits at the centre of how we balance performance, customer outcomes and competitive positioning. At Aviva, we're continuing to invest in how we build, deploy and optimise pricing at scale.

This is an opportunity to play a key role in managing pricing and trading performance across our Direct business. Working across our web and phone channels, you'll help shape commercial decisions that influence both new business and a significant existing customer portfolio.

A bit about the job

Our Motor Retail Pricing team brings together capabilities across Risk, Insights, Trading and Projects, giving you exposure to the full pricing lifecycle.

As a Motor Pricing Manager within Direct Trading, you'll sit at the heart of commercial decision-making, managing a suite of products across our Direct channels and a substantial back book. You'll use analysis, insight and commercial judgement to influence pricing strategies that balance growth, retention and profitability.

Working alongside colleagues across Pricing, Data and the wider business, you'll drive decisions that directly impact customer and business outcomes.

What you'll be doing
  • Leading pricing and trading activity across our Direct web and phone channels.

  • Managing pricing performance across both new business and existing customer portfolios.

  • Influencing the execution of profit and volume trade-offs to maximise business value.

  • Delivering pricing changes to support growth, retention and profitability objectives.

  • Translating complex analysis into clear commercial recommendations.

  • Using tools such as Radar to support optimisation and delivery to market.

  • Working with stakeholders across Pricing, Data and the wider business.

  • Supporting and mentoring others within the team.

  • Driving improvements in trading, pricing and portfolio performance.

Skills and experience we're looking for
  • Strong experience in General Insurance pricing, ideally within Motor.

  • Excellent analytical capability, with experience using tools such as Radar, SQL and/or Python.

  • Experience developing pricing models, including multivariate techniques (e.g. Emblem or similar).

  • Experience managing or analysing customer portfolios and pricing performance.

  • Ability to turn data into clear, commercially relevant insight.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence decisions.

  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of customer and market dynamics.

  • A proactive approach, balancing technical, commercial and customer considerations.

Why join Aviva?

This is an opportunity to influence pricing and trading decisions across some of Aviva's most important customer channels.

Our pricing team plays a unique role as the point where the entire value chain comes together – from data and modelling through to trading decisions – giving you real visibility and impact across the business.

You'll be part of a team that:

  • understands how their work drives performance and genuinely makes a difference

  • works in a highly collaborative environment, bringing together multiple disciplines to solve complex challenges

  • has a strong and visible focus on career development, with regular and meaningful progression conversations

  • is encouraged to challenge the status quo, think differently and bring new ideas

We're focused on building one of the strongest pricing teams in the market — setting high standards, investing in our people, and creating an environment where individuals can thrive.

What you’ll get for this role

Our purpose – with you today, for a better tomorrow – is a promise we make to our colleagues too. And one of the ways we live up to that promise is by investing in you. We have so much to offer when it comes to being an Aviva colleague.

  • Competitive salary (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)

  • Bonus opportunity - 10% of annual salary (actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s)

  • Generous pension scheme e.g. if you put in 8%, Aviva adds 14%

  • 29 days holiday plus bank holidays, and you can choose to buy or sell up to 5 days

  • Aviva-funded Priva…
