Position: Regulatory Reward & Governance Specialist
Location: Greater London

Responsibilities

Support the operation and ongoing enhancement of MUFG’s global Regulatory Reward and Governance framework by maintaining up-to-date policies, standards, and operating procedures that reflect current best practices.

  • Lead the execution of key regulatory remuneration processes such as Material Risk Taker (MRT) identification, annual assessments, governance reviews, and preparation of comprehensive supporting documentation.
  • Perform detailed analysis of remuneration regulations and emerging developments in the regulatory landscape to assess potential impacts on the organisation and support timely implementation of necessary changes.
  • Assist in developing, maintaining, and periodically reviewing remuneration governance policies, procedures, frameworks, and control documentation to ensure robust compliance.
  • Prepare high‑quality governance materials, management information packs, and executive reports for senior management forums, governance committees, and control functions within MUFG.
  • Collaborate closely with Human Resources, Risk Management, Compliance, Legal Counsel, Finance teams, and other business stakeholders to interpret complex remuneration regulations and translate them into practical applications.
  • Coordinate the preparation and submission of regulatory disclosures, attestations, submissions, and other obligations related to remuneration in accordance with applicable requirements.
  • Contribute to the design, implementation, testing, and monitoring of remuneration‑related controls as well as governance processes that underpin effective risk management.
  • Support internal audit reviews, regulatory examinations, assurance activities relating to remuneration governance by providing accurate records and transparent audit trails.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of remuneration arrangements and governance outcomes to identify risks or trends while recommending improvements for greater operational effectiveness.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience working within Regulatory Reward or Reward Governance roles in regulated financial services environments where compliance is paramount.
  • Comprehensive understanding of remuneration regulations (such as PRA/FCA/ECB/EBA regimes), governance frameworks, executive compensation structures or similar regulatory obligations relevant to banking institutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to support regulatory reporting processes including policy development or control activities within large‑scale organisations.
  • Advanced analytical capability enabling you to interpret complex regulations accurately while translating requirements into practical business solutions for diverse audiences.
  • Exceptional written communication skills evidenced by experience preparing governance papers or executive‑level documentation for senior management review.
  • Strong relationship‑building skills allowing you to collaborate effectively across Human Resources teams as well as Risk Management/Compliance/Legal/Finance/business stakeholder groups.
  • Excellent organisational abilities enabling you to manage multiple priorities efficiently within demanding environments without compromising quality or accuracy.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including advanced data analysis), PowerPoint presentations as well as other relevant data analysis tools used for benchmarking or reporting purposes.
  • Experience supporting Material Risk Taker (MRT) identification processes or equivalent regulated remuneration frameworks would be highly advantageous.
  • Familiarity with global banking operations or participation in regulatory change/governance transformation initiatives is desirable.
