The post holder will support the Finance Accounts Manager in the delivery of specialist capital accounting relating to the Trust's capital programme, fixed asset register and leases in accordance with IFRS 16. This will ensure the Trust's monthly financial position and annual statutory accounts are reported accurately and in line with accounting standards and Department of Health and Social Care guidance.
The post holder will be responsible for preparing and completing statutory and Performance Financial Reporting (PFR) capital submissions within agreed financial timescales and statutory requirements, interpreting relevant guidance as required within their defined area of responsibility.
Main duties of the jobTo support the line manager in the operational management and performance monitoring of the Trust's capital programme, including the maintenance of the Trust's Fixed Asset Register (CAR), ensuring capital acquisitions, enhancements, depreciation, revaluations, impairments and disposals are accurately recorded in the general ledger and asset register.
To liaise with the District Valuer (DV) to coordinate the annual fixed asset valuation exercise and provide the valuer with the information required to support periodic revaluations and any ad-hoc valuations, applying specialist capital accounting knowledge to review valuations and raise queries where appropriate, escalating unresolved issues to the line manager.
To provide specialist accounting support to non-financial managers on financial and corporate issues, working closely with project managers on capital planning and expenditure, and delivering high-quality information on fixed asset acquisition and disposal in line with NHS capital accounting guidance.
To assist the line manager in the preparation of the annual capital plan and in the production of monthly capital reporting to SWL in relation to the CDEL control total.

Person Specification Education- Bacherlor's degree or equivalent

- Intermediate to Advance Excel, and the ability to manipulate and interrogate large databases / datasets
- Reporting Financial or Capital information to Senior managers or committees
