The Energy Operations Department supports our Energy Brokers and the clients they serve. Responsibilities include timely submission of trades onto exchanges and venues, first‑line support for Trayport and NEON Energy, deal entry into internal and external platforms, trade reconciliations, recapping, and problem solving. Ad‑hoc duties include assisting the Energy Client Services team with client onboarding and ensuring compliance with regulatory and SOX regulations.
Responsibilities- Ensuring all top day trades are allocated, cleared & accepted in a timely & efficient manner
- Working closely with front‑office brokers, assisting with all queries & requirements
- Deal entry into in‑house systems
- Deal entry into external exchange systems
- Configuration & monitoring of counter party commission rates
- Daily monitoring & problem resolution of downstream internal system feeds & processes
- General customer support
- Reporting issues to the back‑office supervisor & clearing manager
- Providing back‑office administration support under the guidance of the OTC back‑office manager
- Assisting the brokerage department on relevant queries
- Efficient email management, including both personal & group mailboxes
- Timely and accurate distribution of reports
- Ensuring compliance with the company’s regulatory requirements under the FCA
- Adhering to the operational risk framework for your role ensuring that all regulatory or company‑determined parameters are complied with
- Role model for demonstrating highest level standards of integrity and conduct and reflecting company values
- At all times complying with the FCA’s Code of Conduct
- Fully aware of and adhere to internal policies that relate to you, your role or any other activities for which you have responsibility
- Reporting any breaches of policy to compliance and/or your supervisor as required
- Escalating risk events immediately
- Providing input to risk management processes, as required
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a busy environment
