The Role
Reed Banking are currently supporting a leading international bank in their recruitment for a Portfolio Manager to oversee a portfolio real estate loans across the UK and Europe. The role focuses on the full lifecycle management of transactions from drawdown through to repayment, ensuring effective risk management, covenant compliance, and portfolio performance. This is a non‑origination position with significant exposure to borrowers, credit teams, and senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a portfolio of commercial real estate loans across multiple asset classes.
- Act as the primary point of contact for borrowers post‑closing.
- Monitor loan performance, covenant compliance, property valuations, and borrower reporting.
- Oversee all aspects of loan administration including drawdowns, amendments, waivers, restructurings, refinancings, and repayments.
- Conduct ongoing credit analysis and prepare annual reviews, risk assessments, and credit papers.
- Identify and manage emerging risks, working closely with Credit Risk and senior stakeholders.
- Coordinate with Legal, Agency, Operations, and Relationship Management teams to ensure smooth portfolio management.
- Support regulatory, audit, governance, and portfolio reporting requirements.
- 4‑10 years' experience within Real Estate Finance, Portfolio Management, Credit Risk, Asset Management, Commercial Banking, or Structured Property Finance.
- Proven experience managing commercial real estate loans post‑origination.
- Strong understanding of property finance structures, loan documentation, covenants, and security packages.
- Excellent credit and financial analysis skills, including cash flow analysis and property performance assessment.
- Experience preparing credit papers and presenting recommendations to approval committees.
- Exposure to syndicated, bilateral, and club lending structures is advantageous.
- Degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline.
- Previous experience within an international bank or established commercial real estate lender.
