Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the end‑to‑end execution of mergers and acquisitions transactions, ensuring meticulous attention to detail and timely delivery throughout all phases.
  • Develop and refine comprehensive financial models, including discounted cash flow (DCF) and leveraged buyout (LBO) analyses, to evaluate company valuations under diverse operational scenarios and transaction structures.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling presentation materials addressing strategic options, market positioning, and execution frameworks for client interactions.
  • Engage actively in transaction origination, due diligence processes, document drafting, and coordination among internal and external stakeholders to drive successful deal closures.
  • Collaborate with Directors and Vice Presidents to draft marketing and transaction documentation, maintaining high standards and consistency across materials.
  • Review work produced by junior team members, providing constructive feedback to uphold quality and accuracy.
  • Support the training and professional development of junior colleagues, fostering a collaborative and knowledge‑sharing environment.
  • Conduct thorough industry, country, and company research including benchmarking analyses to inform strategic recommendations.
  • Coordinate multi‑disciplinary teams across Standard Chartered to leverage expertise and resources effectively.
  • Manage day‑to‑day project progress, mitigating risks and ensuring seamless execution support on live transactions.
Skills and Experience
  • Advanced proficiency in financial statement analysis and interpreting complex financial data to guide strategic decision‑making.
  • Demonstrable experience providing a full spectrum of investment banking services, with specific focus on natural resources, metals, mining, and critical minerals sectors.
  • Strong track record in managing M&A operations and delivering successful deal outcomes under demanding conditions.
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills, with the ability to handle multiple complex assignments concurrently.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with internal teams and external clients effectively.
  • A proactive, solution‑oriented mindset with aptitude for coaching and mentoring junior professionals.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in business, finance, engineering, or a closely related discipline from a reputable institution.
  • Professional certifications relevant to UK financial regulations are highly desirable, reinforcing your understanding of compliance standards.
  • Fluency in English is essential to effectively communicate within a multinational corporate environment.
  • Previous professional experience in investment banking focused on natural resources, including metals, mining, and critical minerals sectors.
