Senior Finance Business Partner

We are working with a specialist insurer seeking a Senior Finance Business Partner with a strong background in underwriting and/or technology to support strategic decision-making and financial performance in a fast-paced, growth environment. This is a high-impact role partnering closely with senior stakeholders to drive insight, challenge assumptions, and influence outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide senior finance leadership and commercial insight across designated business areas
• Partner closely with underwriting and/or technology teams to support performance, investment decisions, and strategic initiatives
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, delivering financial insight, challenge, and decision support
• Lead presentations of financial performance and forecasts to senior stakeholders in a clear, actionable format
• Analyse monthly and quarterly performance, including variance analysis against budget
• Lead annual budgeting and ongoing forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities
• Identify risks and opportunities, particularly across underwriting performance or technology investment areas
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, interpret, and challenge financial and operational data
• Deliver financial modelling, scenario analysis, and ad hoc project support
• Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, providing independent financial perspective
• Drive continuous improvement in financial planning, reporting, and decision support processes

Key Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Finance Business Partner within underwriting, insurance, or technology-driven environments
• Strong understanding of underwriting performance metrics and/or technology cost drivers and investment cases
• Demonstrated ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders
• Advanced financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting expertise
• Strong financial modelling and scenario planning capabilities
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear insights
• Commercially astute with a strong understanding of business drivers
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment
