THE ROLE

You will be responsible for delivering performance analysis of potential developments, acquisitions, and other investment opportunities. You will work closely with the investment, development, asset management and leasing teams to produce robust analysis to support decision making.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Prepare development appraisals for committed and prospective development (including leasing opportunities), or for potential purchases.
  • For allocated projects, lead in the review of quarterly and half yearly valuations from our external valuers.
  • Produce regular performance updates for internal and external reporting.
  • Produce clear, insightful output to include in relevant Investment Committee, Joint Venture or Board papers.
  • Liaise with, and develop positive working relationships with, relevant stakeholders to understand their analytical requirements.
  • Design, build, use and adapt existing Excel-based appraisal models to run financial appraisals to meet tight deadlines.
  • Provide input into the annual IRR forecasting process, including analysis using our Anaplan forecasting models.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve processes and financial outcomes, and highlight problem areas.
ABOUT YOU

This role is suitable for someone who has:

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and in using it to perform analysis.
  • Knowledge of key financial concepts such as NPV and IRR, as well as property specific concepts such as Profit on Cost.
  • Familiarity with the method by which property developments are valued, and standard appraisal methodology.
  • An understanding of how to prioritise and manage multiple work streams simultaneously.
  • Comfortable working on both a “big picture” and a highly detailed basis.
  • Ability to produce well thought through, clearly laid out and expressed schedules and papers
  • Ability to communicate confidently with property and non-property professionals, and to explain the outcomes of analysis to a range of different stakeholders.
  • Ability to build valuable relationships both internally and externally.
  • Confidence to offer their own opinion and add constructively to the debate with the aim of collectively reaching a consensus view.
  • Experience of using Argus Developer and Anaplan (advantageous but not essential).
