We are working with a well-established specialist lender on a Director hire into their Real Estate Finance team.

This is a business with a strong balance sheet, a growing profile in the UK real estate market, and a reputation for backing ambitious property entrepreneurs and developers with genuine speed and commercial judgement.

The Team

The Real Estate Finance team sits at the heart of the lending business. It originates and executes high-quality transactions end-to-end, from senior debt through to stretched senior and mezzanine structures, across a wide range of asset classes. The team works closely, moves quickly, and holds itself to a high standard on both credit quality and client experience.

The Role

This is a genuine end-to-end origination and execution mandate. You will own deals from first conversation through to successful close, with real autonomy to shape your own portfolio and take an entrepreneurial approach to every opportunity. You will work closely with senior leadership in a business with minimal hierarchy and a strong bias towards speed and commercial judgement.

Responsibilities include:

  • Originating, structuring and executing real estate transactions including senior, stretched senior and mezzanine facilities
  • Managing and developing existing client relationships while identifying new opportunities across SMEs, key borrower intermediaries, advisors and private equity firms
  • Analysing financial accounts, building financial models and preparing high-quality credit memoranda including forecast cash flows and sensitivity analysis
  • Presenting credit cases to sanctioning authority and ensuring transactions are documented in line with credit-approved terms
  • Meeting individual and team targets across profit, credit quality, new client acquisition and retention
Who We Are Looking For
  • In-depth understanding of the London real estate market with a strong, active network across relevant counter parties
  • Strong credit, financial analysis and modelling skills, including the ability to write structured credit papers and present to a credit committee
  • Proven track record originating, structuring and executing senior, stretched senior and mezzanine real estate transactions, with strong legal documentation skills
  • Degree in Finance, Commerce or equivalent

Experience with in a bank or regulated lending environment and existing relationships with private equity sponsors, property advisors or intermediaries would be advantageous.
