Finance Manager - Office based 2-3 times a month

Charity People have partnered with a £2million turnover charity seeking an experienced and commercially minded Finance Manager to join a values-driven organisation making a meaningful impact in communities across the UK.

Reporting directly to an inspiring and supportive CEO, you will lead all aspects of finance, providing strategic financial leadership while ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the finance function.

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified finance professional who enjoys working in a collaborative, mission-led environment and is equally comfortable contributing at both strategic and operational levels.

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time (37.5 hours per week)

• Lead the organisation's financial planning and management processes, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, reserves management and long-term financial planning.
• Produce accurate and timely management accounts, financial reports and Board papers, providing clear financial insight to support decision-making.
• Develop, review and maintain robust financial policies, controls and compliance processes, ensuring adherence to relevant financial, regulatory and charity accounting requirements.
• Oversee the day-to-day finance function, including payroll, sales and purchase ledger activities, banking, reconciliations, VAT returns, fixed assets and accounting system administration.
• Manage year-end processes, including audit preparation, annual accounts, statutory returns and funder financial reporting.
• Support the development of sustainable income streams by contributing to funding applications, programme budgeting and financial modelling, while line managing and supporting the Finance & HR Administrator.

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) or a very strong QBE (Qualified by Experience) Accountant with strong experience working within the charity / NFP sector
• Strong knowledge of charity accounting, SORP and financial controls, with experience preparing budgets, forecasts and management accounts.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
• Highly organised and adaptable, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, exercise sound judgement and work effectively within a small, collaborative team.
• Strong systems and technology skills, including experience using accounting software and leveraging technology to improve financial efficiency and reporting.

Due to the urgency of this role, we will be closing it on 3rd August, 2026. Shortlisted candidates will be required to respond to two written questions to highlight their experience and skills to work within a forward thinking collaborative team.
