Four days a week in Central London office is essential

A rare mandate to build a Group Treasury function around a complex, structured capital base, inside a business with genuine international ambition.

STOIX is working with an international public transport group that operates services across the UK, Ireland, the Nordics, and a growing portfolio of global markets. Owned by an infrastructure consortium and sitting on a multi-lender, covenant-heavy capital structure, the business is transitioning from a loosely federated group into a properly consolidated international operator, with 17 operating companies and bids in flight on some of the largest transport tenders globally.

They are hiring a Group Treasurer, reporting directly to the Group CFO. This is a build-and-fix role where the centre of gravity sits firmly in structured finance: capital structure design, refinancing execution, and funding the bids and concessions that will shape the next chapter of the group. The function, the capital base, and the international scope will all scale materially over the next 24 months, and so will your remit.

The

role
  • Lead structured finance strategy for the group: capital structure design, refinancing, debt issuance, and the sequencing of capital markets activity behind an active bid pipeline
  • Own the multi-lender consortium (15+ lenders) end-to-end: covenant regime, reporting, waivers, amendments, and the day-to-day relationship management that keeps a complex facility set functioning
  • Structure the funding, guarantees and bonding requirements that underpin international tenders, concessions and M&A activity
  • Own the rating agency dialogue and the shareholder-facing narrative on capital structure, alongside board-level reporting to sophisticated infrastructure investors
  • Build the wider treasury function from first principles: cash visibility, forecasting, liquidity infrastructure, TMS and controls, leveraging automation and AI where they genuinely add value
  • Partner across 17 operating companies to rationalise banking, embed controls, and professionalise the function
  • Lead and develop a Treasury Manager and a Treasury Analyst, with scope to shape the team as the group scales
The profile (non-negotiable)
  • Deep structured finance track record: leading refinancings, debt issuance, covenant-heavy multi-lender facilities, asset-backed or concession-backed funding. This is the anchor requirement.
  • Credible with lenders, rating agencies and sophisticated infrastructure shareholders. You have carried these relationships yourself, not observed them.
  • Significant treasury experience in a large, complex, multi-entity corporate: infrastructure, transport, utilities, real assets or another capital-intensive sector
  • Demonstrated treasury transformation experience: TMS implementation, process redesign, operating model build, not just steady-state
  • Comfortable operating inside consortium and PE sponsor dynamics
  • A strategic direction-setter who still rolls up their sleeves and writes the board paper themselves; this is an exec team that does, not one that delegates
  • ACT, ACA or CFA preferred
  • Direct experience structuring funding for M&A, tenders and concessions: guarantees, bonding, project-level facilities and the sponsor-side negotiation that goes with them
  • Private placement issuance experience
What this is (and isn't)

This is a Group Treasurer role with the weighting deliberately shifted toward structured finance and capital markets. You will own the wider treasury function, but the mandate is built for someone whose instincts and CV sit in structured finance.

It is not:

  • a maintenance or steady-state treasury seat
  • a role for a treasurer whose exposure to structured finance is second-hand

This is where you own the capital structure, run the lender consortium, and sit at the centre of a business that is genuinely evolving: sophisticated shareholders, international growth, and a global tender pipeline that matters.

If you have done the hard yards in structured finance and want to own the full suite inside a business going somewhere, this is the one.
