Vice President - Financial Institutions Group (FIG)

A leading international investment bank is seeking a Vice President to join its Financial Institutions Group (FIG) team in London. The team advises a diverse range of financial services clients across wealth management, asset management, banking, specialty finance, payments, and fintech, delivering strategic M&A, capital raising, and broader corporate finance advisory services.

This is an opportunity to play a key role in originating and executing complex transactions while managing junior team members and building long-term client relationships within one of the market's most active FIG franchises. The role is broadly aligned with senior FIG banking experience across asset & wealth management, banking and fintech subsectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the execution of M&A, strategic advisory, and capital markets transactions across the FIG sector.
  • Manage transaction processes from initial pitch through to completion, coordinating internal and external stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain senior relationships with clients, investors, management teams, and industry participants.
  • Oversee financial modelling, valuation analysis, and transaction materials prepared by Analysts and Associates.
  • Support Managing Directors in business development, idea generation, and sector coverage initiatives.
  • Identify new opportunities within wealth management, asset management, banking, payments, fintech, and broader financial services.
  • Mentor and develop junior bankers, helping drive team culture and execution excellence.
Candidate Requirements
  • 6-10 years of relevant experience within investment banking, M&A advisory, corporate finance, or related financial advisory environments.
  • Strong FIG experience covering one or more of:
    • Asset & Wealth Management
    • Banks
    • Specialty Finance
    • Fin Tech & Payments
    • Financial Technology
  • Demonstrated experience leading live transactions and managing client relationships.
  • Advanced financial modelling, valuation, and analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to oversee multiple work streams simultaneously within a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong commercial judgement, communication skills, and client-facing presence.
  • Existing network within the UK and European financial institutions landscape is advantageous.
What's on Offer
  • Opportunity to work on high-profile UK and cross-border FIG transactions.
  • Significant client exposure and responsibility from day one.
  • A clear path toward Director-level progression.
  • Entrepreneurial and collaborative team environment.
  • Access to senior decision-makers across the European financial services sector.
  • Competitive compensation package with strong bonus potential.

This opportunity would suit a Vice President seeking greater transaction leadership, enhanced client exposure, and the chance to play a meaningful role within a market-leading Financial Institutions advisory platform.
