Join us as a Private Banker within our growing Private Banking team based in Jersey.

The Private Banking team offers bespoke banking and investment solutions to high-net-worth clients.

Barclays Private Bankers act as trusted advisors to clients providing bespoke banking services, lending and wealth structuring, in addition to a world class range of investment solutions and products across all asset classes.

Private Bankers are expected to identify, initiate, build and maintain effective introductory relationships with key internal and external stakeholders in order to ensure effective opportunity streams for new clients, assets and revenues. In order to achieve this, you must be proactive in identifying and developing opportunity opportunities and must be accomplished in influencing others to create and grow effective partnerships across the organisation, and externally, to drive performance.

What

you will be doing:
  • Establishing and growing a portfolio of HNW clients, understanding their financial goals and risk appetite
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for clients, providing exceptional service and financial guidance
  • Conducting regular client meetings & reviews
  • Become a key person and subject matter expert within the team for banking products, credit advice, investment knowledge and more complex client queries
Essential Skills/

Basic Qualifications:
  • Previous experience working within Private Banking
  • Exceptional client servicing and relationship management skills
  • Excellent business development skills
Desirable skills:
  • CISI level 4 qualified or equivalent
  • Previous experience working as a Private Banker

This role is based in Jersey.

Purpose

Deliver exceptional sales and business performance by acquiring, developing and maintaining highly proactive, long term client relationships. Protect Barclays reputation through sound risk decisions by managing client group within their risk profile and appropriate regulatory framework.

Accountabilities
  • Manage and grow client relationships and acquire new clients - identifying and managing solutions to meet a wide range of client needs

  • Establish a sound understanding of the strategy of the clients in your portfolio through regular proactive contact, responding to client / prospect queries and requests and identifying opportunities that will deliver long term commercial reward

  • Manage operational, reputational, financial crime and credit risk for the portfolio to avoid exposing Barclays to undue risk

  • Ensure all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards

  • Service/group relationships - referrals to group colleagues
