CPS Group are working with a well-established organisation within the insurance sector that is looking to appoint a Financial Crime Officer (Advisory & Investigations). This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive team, providing expert advice across all areas of financial crime while working closely with stakeholders throughout the business.

Reporting into the Senior Financial Crime Officer, you'll be responsible for providing practical guidance on financial crime matters, supporting investigations, reviewing alerts, and ensuring the business remains compliant with relevant UK and international regulations.

This is a varied advisory role where no two days are the same, offering exposure across sanctions, AML, fraud, anti-bribery, licensing and wider compliance initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Provide expert advice on financial crime matters across the business.
Review and investigate escalated financial crime referrals and screening alerts.
Support AML and KYC processes and respond to third-party due diligence requests.
Assist with investigations into financial crime incidents and regulatory reporting where required.
Contribute to financial crime policies, procedures and wider compliance frameworks.
Monitor regulatory developments across UK, EU, US and UN financial crime legislation.
Maintain accurate records, audit trails and internal reporting.
Work collaboratively with stakeholders to promote a strong culture of compliance.

We're looking for someone who has:

Previous experience in a Financial Crime, AML or Compliance role.
Previous experience within a financial crime advisory and/or investigations function.
Strong knowledge of AML, sanctions and wider financial crime regulations.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
The ability to communicate complex regulatory matters clearly to a range of stakeholders.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Experience gained within the insurance or reinsurance sector will be highly advantageous, as the role requires an understanding of the regulatory landscape specific to insurance businesses.

Exposure to licensing compliance, fraud investigations or anti-fraud frameworks would also be beneficial.

If you're looking for a role where you can genuinely influence financial crime compliance while working in a flexible hybrid environment, we'd love to hear from you.
