Working as part of the senior Finance team, this role will engage with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including managing and developing two direct reports.

Your main responsibilities as Financial Controller will include:

  • Head up ENB’s Financial Accounting function, providing leadership and management (as well as development opportunities, where appropriate) to a team of part-qualified and non-qualified colleagues.
  • Manage a range of services through a high-performing, customer-focused finance team that can adapt with confidence to ENB’s growing demands whilst maintaining a focus on quality and effectiveness.
  • Ensure a strong internal control environment that delivers timely and accurate information for quality reporting, thereby supporting decision-making and assisting in reporting progress against budget and forecast.
  • Be the first point of contact for systems optimisation, tax compliance, and statutory reporting.
  • Support the Head of Finance in financial strategy and business planning, working as part of the senior Finance team alongside the Head of Management Accounts.
Key Selection Criteria
  • Proven significant experience of working as a senior finance professional in the arts sector or charity sector.
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Proven experience of managing finance systems and processes, financial reporting, audit management, and charity tax and VAT.
  • Have a good working knowledge of payroll, including associated taxes and complex pay elements.
  • Ability to develop or refresh processes and ensure good documentation is in place, facilitating consistent implementation of agreed procedures.
  • Ability to lead, develop and retain direct reports, and enable them to take ownership of and responsibility for their own deliverables and development (with support for professional qualifications as appropriate).
