Deputy Financial Controller

Deputy Financial Controller | London | Hybrid working | 12 month contract | £80k annual salary | August/ early September start

This is an exciting opportunity to join an iconic brand as their Deputy Financial Controller for a 12 month contract which may go permanent for the right candidate.

It requires a qualified accountant with a minimum of 3 years post qualified (likely to be more) with previous experience working in a "hands on", broad accounting role in industry. Experience with projects or process improvement would be preferable.

There is a heavy focus on projects related to business expansion in this role.

The role will report directly into the Group Financial Controller and will support on all core finance activities for the company.

• Support the Group Financial Controller in delivering an accurate & timely month-end, quarter-end and year-end close.
• Manage the external audit process and deliver all statutory and regulatory reports within required deadlines.
• Review, challenge and continuously improve the close process to reduce close timelines while strengthening the control environment.
• Identify opportunities to simplify, standardise and automate finance processes through effective use of finance systems and technology.
• Take ownership of the ERP system maintaining data accuracy, streamlining processes, and delivering high-quality financial insights.
• Contribute to strategic projects such as growth initiatives, investment evaluations, and mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence and integration where relevant.
