Founded in 1922, Alpha Bank London combines the heritage and stability of a long-established financial institution with the ambition and agility of a growing organisation. As an independently regulated UK bank within the Alpha Bank Group, we provide specialist banking services to personal and corporate customers in the UK and internationally.

This is an exciting period of growth and transformation for the Bank. Alongside our established business, we are developing a new digital retail banking proposition focused on serving the Greek, Cypriot and wider diaspora communities across the UK. Backed by a strong Board, supportive shareholders and an ambitious strategy, we are investing in our future and looking for talented individuals to help shape it.

The Role

This role leads the Bank’s strategic finance, capital and liquidity planning, regulatory reporting and operational risk coordination, providing forward‑looking insight, robust analysis and effective challenge to support sound decision‑making across the organisation.

Working closely with the CFO and senior leaders, the position shapes the Bank’s financial strategy, oversees ICAAP/ILAAP and stress‑testing, ensures accurate and compliant prudential reporting, and advises on the financial implications of strategic initiatives.

What You'll Do
  • Strategic Finance Leadership — Partner with the CFO to shape the Bank’s financial strategy, five‑year plan and resource allocation.
  • Capital & Liquidity Planning — Lead ICAAP, ILAAP, stress‑testing and forward‑looking capital, leverage, liquidity and funding assessments.
  • Scenario Analysis — Deliver capital, liquidity and funding plans that support strategic decisions and regulatory compliance.
  • Performance Insight — Provide timely, forward‑looking analysis of business performance, key value drivers and financial outlook.
  • Financial Challenge & Recommendations — Lead strategic initiatives with robust analysis, constructive challenge and clear recommendations.
  • Regulatory Reporting Oversight — Ensure accurate, timely and compliant COREP, FINREP and BoE/PRA/EBA submissions.
  • Regulatory Horizon Scanning — Interpret new prudential and accounting requirements and oversee their implementation.
  • Stakeholder Partnering — Act as a trusted adviser to senior leaders and build strong partnerships across Finance, Risk and Treasury.
  • Committee Engagement — Present capital, liquidity and regulatory insights to ExCo, management committees and the Board.
  • Team Leadership & Development — Set direction, manage performance, build capability and foster a high‑performing, accountable culture.
What We’re Looking For
  • Qualified Accountant — ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent, with strong post‑qualification experience.
  • Senior Banking Finance Experience — Significant experience in PRA/FCA‑regulated organisations.
  • Technical Prudential Expertise — Deep knowledge of ICAAP, ILAAP, stress‑testing, CRR, PRA Rulebook and regulatory reporting frameworks.
  • Advanced Modelling & Analysis — Strong Excel, forecasting, scenario modelling and data management capability (SQL advantageous).
  • Strategic Thinker — Able to translate business priorities into financial, capital and liquidity requirements.
  • Confident Communicator — Skilled at presenting complex financial and regulatory matters to senior stakeholders and Boards.
  • Collaborative Leader — Proven ability to lead teams, build cross‑functional relationships and influence decision‑making.
  • Continuous Improver — Track record of enhancing processes, controls, reporting systems and team performance.
  • Values‑Driven Professional — Demonstrates integrity, accountability and alignment with Conduct Rules and operational resilience expectations.
