M&A Underwriter

A globally established insurer with a well-regarded transactional risk offering is looking to appoint an M&A Underwriter to join its team, underwriting warranty and indemnity risk across UK and international deals. This is a business with genuine scale and a broad geographic remit, offering exposure to a wide variety of deal types, sectors and jurisdictions rather than a narrow domestic book.

The successful candidate will take ownership of the full underwriting process on live transactions, from initial risk assessment through to policy issuance, working closely with brokers, legal counsel and other market participants to structure and price cover on complex M&A transactions. Given the international nature of the book, there is considerable scope to build relationships and deal flow beyond the UK market, and the team is particularly keen to hear from candidates who can bring an additional dimension to that reach.

We are looking for someone with either broking or underwriting experience specifically within W&I, or alternatively a strong corporate M&A lawyer looking to make the pivot into insurance who can demonstrate a solid grounding in transactional work, due diligence and deal documentation. Candidates who bring French or Italian language capability will be of particular interest, given the international scope of the role and the opportunities it presents to develop business in those markets.
