Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Pensions Audit Senior Associate to join their Assurance team. This role offers the opportunity to work with a varied portfolio of pension scheme clients, supporting audit engagements from planning through to completion while developing both technical expertise and client relationship skills. The successful candidate will work as part of a collaborative team focused on delivering high-quality assurance services and supporting strong governance outcomes for clients.
Key Responsibilities- Support the delivery of pension scheme audit engagements from planning through to completion.
- Prepare audit testing, working papers, and supporting documentation to a high standard.
- Assist with the preparation of audit planning documents, findings reports, and client deliverables.
- Liaise with clients to obtain information, resolve queries, and maintain strong working relationships.
- Review financial statements and supporting schedules for accuracy and compliance with relevant standards.
- Ensure assignments are completed within agreed budgets and timescales.
- Identify audit and governance issues and escalations key findings appropriately.
- Support the coaching and development of junior team members where required.
- Contribute to pensions assurance, governance, and risk management projects.
- Maintain compliance with professional standards, regulatory requirements, and internal quality procedures.
- ACA, ACCA, ICAS, or equivalent qualification, either newly qualified or part-qualified with relevant experience.
- Experience in external audit, ideally including exposure to pension scheme audits.
- Understanding of pension scheme accounting requirements and relevant industry regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines effectively.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive approach to learning and professional development.
- Collaborative team player with a commitment to delivering excellent client service.
- Exposure to a varied portfolio of pension scheme clients.
