We are looking for an experienced individual to join ARC as an Associate Director, who will be a key analytical team member in ARC’s Structured Finance Ratings unit in London.
The experienced individual will lead the analysis of quantitative, structural, legal and credit aspects of securitisation transactions both in a primary and surveillance capacity. Furthermore, the role includes writing research as well as working on special projects intended to enhance ARC's analytical approaches. The candidate will be expected to be a lead analyst in rating committees and provide their opinion on the potential credit impact of different factors on the credit strength of rated transactions.
They are also expected to mentor and train less experienced analysts.
- Lead with the analysis and review of all quantitative, structural, legal, and credit aspects of securitisation transactions both in a primary and surveillance capacity
- Analyse asset pools, assess transaction structures and quantitatively model cash flows using ARC’s methodologies and models/tools to formulate independent credit opinions. The analyst will also review legal documentation and third-party reports
- Lead in the preparation of committee papers, including participation and voting in credit committees, on new or existing structured finance ratings
- Monitor the work of more junior analysts and support in the credit process
- Compile/utilise asset models and cash flow tools related to structured finance transactions.
Perform advanced modification and creation of other tools. - Author
-hoc high-quality sector commentaries and topical research, transactions and performance trends - Provide input to rating methodologies and credit tools
- Lead meetings with issuers and diligently conduct all necessary interaction with management and market participants
- Prepare background research and market statistics for structured finance rating criteria
- Conduct originator and servicer reviews as well as investor outreach meetings
- Mentor and train other analysts
- At least 5 years of structured finance or related experience required
- Academic degree (MSc/BSc or equivalent) in finance, business, law, engineering, mathematics, real estate, economics, statistics or other related field
- Strong quantitative aptitude, proven analytical skills and logical analytical thought process; strong attention to detail
- Good understanding of investment, financial and fixed income markets
- Fluent written and verbal communications skills in English essential
- Experience in handling structed finance customer relationships.
Ability to communicate effectively and build relationships with issuers, investors, bankers, journalists and other market professionals - Sound judgment and highest ethical standards; capable of developing independent opinions and defending own views
- Proactive, flexible, diligent and dependable
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines and work under pressure
- High level knowledge and ability with Office
- Ability to travel across EMEA/UK as required
- Good understanding of industry, regulatory and economic aspects affecting structured finance
- CFA/CQF advantageous
- Spoken and written proficiency in at least one other language advantageous
