Management Accountant - 9 month FTC

About The Role

We are looking for an experienced Management Accountant to join our Finance team on an initial nine-month fixed-term contract.

Reporting to the Senior Operations Finance Business Partner, you will take ownership of management accounts, month-end reporting, budgeting and forecasting. You will work closely with operational and commercial teams to analyse performance, challenge assumptions and identify opportunities to improve profitability.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Producing management accounts, forecasts and weekly profitability reporting.
• Analysing margins, operational costs and performance against targets.
• Supporting costing, inventory accounting, stock valuation and Cap Ex proposals.
• Providing commercial insight around pricing, product mix, efficiencies and cost reduction.
• Managing Tesco compliance, open-book reporting, rebates and profit-share arrangements.
• Improving financial controls, processes, reporting tools and dashboards.

You will be a confident Management Accountant with experience in a manufacturing, production or operational environment. You will be comfortable working with detailed financial information and translating it into clear, practical insight for non-finance stakeholders.

You will also have:

• Strong management accounting, budgeting, forecasting and variance-analysis experience.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Experience of standard costing, inventory accounting or Cap Ex appraisal.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong financial-systems knowledge.
• A part-qualified or qualified accounting qualification, such as CIMA, ACCA or ACA.

Experience with in fresh produce and knowledge of D365, Power BI, Power Query or SQL would be advantageous.
