Our client is a highly profitable, international consumer business with a strong market position in the premium retail and consumer goods sector. Backed by a well-established international parent group, the UK operation is a significant contributor to global profitability and continues to deliver growth despite a challenging economic backdrop.

The business operates through a diversified omnichannel model across wholesale, direct-to-consumer and physical retail, with ambitious plans to continue investing in growth initiatives, new categories and customer experience.

While maintaining strong financial governance and control, the primary focus of the role is helping the business identify, evaluate and deliver its next phase of growth. The successful candidate will partner closely with the CEO and wider leadership team to shape strategy, support investment decisions, optimise performance and drive sustainable profitability.

A little more information about the role:
  • Act as a strategic partner to the CEO and Executive Team, supporting business planning, growth initiatives and long-term value creation.
  • Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and performance management across the UK business.
  • Drive commercial decision making through analysis, insight and business partnering across multiple functions.
  • Evaluate investment opportunities, growth initiatives and capital allocation decisions.
  • Maintain robust financial controls, governance frameworks and regulatory compliance.
  • Assume responsibility for statutory reporting, audit, taxation, treasury and corporate governance activities.
  • Lead cash flow, working capital and funding activities.
  • Support commercial negotiations and key strategic partnerships through financial and legal expertise.
  • Build strong relationships with external stakeholders including auditors, banking partners, advisors and regulatory bodies.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing finance leadership team.
  • Contribute to wider international projects and collaborate with finance leadership across the global organisation.
To successfully deliver in the profile position, you will need to have:
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Proven CFO, Finance Director or senior finance leadership experience within a £100m-£200m+ turnover business or operating subsidiary of a larger international group.
  • Demonstrable track record of driving both revenue growth and profit improvement within an established business.
  • Strong commercial finance capability combined with excellent technical finance leadership across control, reporting, planning, governance and cash management.
  • Experience operating within branded consumer, retail, luxury, premium consumer goods or similar customer-focused sectors.
  • Strong understanding of wholesale and trade-based business models, including commercial accounting complexities and retailer relationships.
  • Experience partnering with CEOs and executive leadership teams to shape business strategy and investment decisions.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across all levels of an organisation.
  • Experience leading sizeable finance teams and developing senior leaders.
  • Strong communication skills and a highly collaborative leadership style.
