This is an exciting opportunity for someone with around a year of experience behind them, eager to build a career in finance.
If you're proactive, you want real ownership over your work, and you genuinely get excited about using AI and tech to make things better and faster - this role is perfect for you.
You'll work directly with experienced professionals who have built finance functions in fast growing startups, learning from their expertise while gaining hands-on experience across all areas of Finance operations. We'll sponsor you through your ACCA qualification, giving you a structured pathway to becoming a well-rounded finance professional.
What does this role involve?Lead Accounts Receivable Collections: Own the AR collection process end-to-end, driving continuous improvement on key metrics (DSO and past-due aging). Work directly with partners and cross-functional teams to resolve payment issues. Own and optimise our Collections Management system (Chaser).
Finance Operations & Onboarding: Handle daily finance admin such as our inbox and issuing credit notes. Onboard partners to our systems for accurate billing and support on VAT returns.
Accounts Payable Management: Process invoices, review for policy compliance, oversee the approval workflow, and ensure proper controls are maintained.
Support Month-end Close
Activities:
Perform balance sheet and bank reconciliations, post journal entries, and ensure accurate financial records to support a timely month-end close and financial reporting.Drive Process Improvement and Automation Initiatives: Collaborate with the wider finance and operations teams to identify opportunities to improve financial processes and controls. Evaluate manual workflows and recommend automation solutions with use of technology and AI tools.
Assisting with ad-hoc finance projects, reports and analysis as needed
Scaling Without Breaking: We're growing fast and our manual processes are screaming to be fixed. You'll spot the opportunities, decide what to build and ship improvements that work. Use whatever tech makes sense - AI, automation or smarter workflows.
Cash Flow & Collections: Right now, chasing can be manual and messy. You'll build a better system to optimise how we chase invoices and get cash arriving faster.
Month-end Close Efficiency: We close in three days and we want to keep it that way as we grow. You'll protect that speed by spotting bottlenecks, tightening reconciliations and automating manual work.
You've Got Some
Experience:
Around a year in a finance or finance-adjacent role - AR, AP, bookkeeping, credit control, a placement or an internship. You're Career-Minded: You have a genuine interest in building a career in finance and developing expertise across finance operations. You're keen to learn and develop your skills - whether that is through formal qualifications, building experience or both.
You're Eager to Learn: You genuinely want to build your knowledge from the ground up, work closely with experienced colleagues, and grow your expertise over time.
You're a Strong Communicator: You communicate clearly and effectively with both internal teams and external partners. You're articulate and professional in how you handle conversations.
You're Detail-Oriented and Organised: You have a meticulous approach to work, high attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while prioritising what matters most.
You're Proactive Problem-Solver: You don't wait to be told what to do. You identify inefficiencies, spot opportunities for improvement, take initiative, and give things a go before seeking help.
You're Ownership-Driven: You take ownership of your work and responsibilities, seeing problems through to completion rather than passing them off. You're comfortable with repetitive tasks when needed, but you're always thinking about how to improve or automate them.
You don't want to spend your time chasing payments: Chasing overdue invoices is the biggest part of this role, and it's repetitive by nature. The best person for this job will want to get good at it and then find ways to automate it - if that doesn't appeal, this isn't the right role.
You need perfect structure: You thrive in a highly structured environment where everything is set up, systems are locked down and there is little room to change how things work.
You're not willing to get hands-on: You're not prepared to dive into
