Pinnacle Group is looking for two experienced Senior Management Accountants to join our Finance team and support our Homes business. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the successful candidates will play a key role in delivering budgeting, forecasting and financial planning across a portfolio of contracts. Working closely with operational leaders and budget holders, they will provide commercial insight, support informed decision-making and help drive financial performance across the business.

The roles will also contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes, reporting and controls, ensuring the business is well positioned to achieve its strategic and operational objectives.

Our Finance Team is part of our Central Services, providing expert support to all areas of the business. They help ensure our operations run efficiently, embrace best practice and stay financially strong – enabling our teams to deliver on our mission to Transform Communities and Change Lives.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with proven experience leading and owning end-to-end budgeting and forecasting cycles within a multi-site, contract-based or operationally driven environment. They will possess strong financial modelling skills and a demonstrable track record of partnering with operational stakeholders to translate business plans into robust financial forecasts and budgets. A naturally analytical and inquisitive individual, they will be confident challenging assumptions, scrutinising financial data and ensuring budgets are supported by clear, evidence-based rationale.

Experience with in housing, facilities management, outsourcing, contract services or a similar sector, together with knowledge of contract commercial models, mobilisations and margin management, would be advantageous.

This is a 6-month fixed-term hybrid contract requiring attendance at our Holborn office three days per week, with the remaining two days working remotely.

Key responsibilities:
  • Build and own the annual budget, from first draft through to sign-off.
  • Construct detailed, bottom-up budgets driven by real operational activity – headcount, volumes, service levels, mobilisations and demobilisations – rather than simple prior-year uplifts.
  • Model income, direct costs, overheads and margin, reflecting phasing, seasonality and known contractual changes across the financial year.
  • Partner with Operations to gather inputs and translate their delivery plans into robust financial numbers.
  • Meet regularly with budget holders, acting as a trusted finance point of contact and explaining budgets in plain language so non-finance managers understand and own their numbers.
  • Constructively review and challenge operational assumptions where they appear optimistic, inconsistent or unsupported, to ensure budgets are realistic and deliverable.
  • Document every material assumption – fee rates, inflation, pay awards, staffing models, contract terms and indexation – in a clear, consistent assumptions log.
  • Ensure assumptions are transparent and traceable, so reviewers and stakeholders can see exactly what drives the numbers, why each assumption was made and its source or owner.
  • Carry out sensitivity and scenario analysis on the key drivers, clearly separating base case from upside and downside and quantifying the impact of each assumption.
