Join us as an Investments Specialist in the Private Markets team within the Investments Private Bank and Wealth Management (PB&WM) business. The Private Markets team is responsible for the PB&WM Private Markets offering, including the Barclays Private Assets Programme, Multi-Vintage Portfolios, the Direct Investments Platform and Venture Capital Products.

This Investment Specialist role focuses on lifecycle activities associated with our advised Private Markets solutions (Barclays Private Assets Programme and Multi-Vintage Portfolios).

Responsibilities
  • Conducting post sales activities including calculating and managing capital calls and distributions, front office communications, client reporting, tax engagement and working with fund managers and administrators as well as responding to adhoc front office and client queries
  • Leading Strategic Initiatives (SI) and Change projects associated with enhancing and supporting a growing platform (including a client reporting enhancement project)
  • Actively contributing as well as occasionally leading on Product Management and Governance activities within the team
Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications
  • Technical expertise including experience or an interest in Private Markets or funds
  • Attention to detail, with the ability to multi-task, prioritise and make decisions independent of significant support from colleagues and management
  • Strong understanding of risk management and ability to manage risk in a financial services environment
  • Effective communication skills, including the ability to convey technical information clearly to a broad range of technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a collegiate manner to actively share knowledge and experience in order to meet commercial and business objectives
  • Demonstrate a willingness and ability to take on tasks and processes from members of the team
Desirable Skills/Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical expertise including experience working in product management and product governance for Investment products
  • Experience in PBWM systems and operating models
  • An understanding of accounting concepts, regulatory requirements and potential skills

This role is based in London or Glasgow.

Purpose of the role

To act as a bridge between Product teams and clients, providing in-depth knowledge and support for a specific range of products.

Accountabilities
  • Provision of SME expertise on specific products and services to customers and colleagues, including features, functionalities, benefits, limitations, risks and compliance
  • Understanding of market trends, new features, regulatory requirements and potential risks, and analysis of data obtained from sales figures and, customer feedback, to support the product development process, and communicate key findings to relevant stakeholders to improve product offerings.
  • Response to customer inquiries and obtain a detailed understanding of complex personal / corporate financial circumstances in order to provide options for suitable product solutions. Support with resolution of issues, and provision of guidance on product usage.
  • Assistance with the development and execution of marketing materials for the product, such as pitch materials and client presentations.
  • Participation in training sessions and workshops to share product knowledge and expertise with colleagues and other stakeholders.
